Chopper’s dance comes from a certain Japanese comedian

Manga

When praised for something, the adorable Chopper is unable to hide his embarrassment, even though he replies with a dirty word.
In a scene from the Alabaster Arc, the chopper is praised for being able to talk to animals.
To hide his embarrassment, he replies, “I won’t be happy by those words” with the dance in below image. Some of you may have wondered why he was moving in a strange way.

One Piece Chapter 154

This dance is actually a dance of a legendary Japanese comedian.
(The author Oda answered a reader’s question in the comic book version of SBS.)

The comedian is Henna Ojisan in Japanese (Wired middle aged man).
In Japan, he was very popular in the 1990s. It is still funny for me. please check below link if you curious with it.

The author, Oda, also shows his respect for this comedian by incorporating his Joke/Dance into Luffy’s behavior or his words .
