Godzilla Minus One has achieved the highest box office revenue for a Japanese film in the U.S.! However, what captured the attention of the Japanese was the previous record holder.

Godzilla Minus One surpassed all previous records for box office revenue for a Japanese live-action film in the United States. This is a remarkable achievement, breaking a 34-year record.

However, what surprised the Japanese was not this fact but the movie “The Adventures of Milo and Otis” which held the top spot for the past 34 years.

This film was produced in 1986 and is an old movie with low recognition among those under 30. Comments like “What is The Adventures of Milo and Otis?” can be seen on the social medias. I also watched it when I was in elementary school, and fragments of memories remain.

Moreover, while the film was popular in Japan, it did not make it into the all-time Top 10 domestically. Japanese people were surprised that it was popular in the United States.

As for this movie, the characters are friends, a kitten, and a puppy. The story revolves around the kitten chasing after a puppy that got swept away in a river. It’s a heartwarming and charming film with a narrative focused on animals, completely opposite to Godzilla, which is narration-based and centered around animals.

To all readers, this is also a good movie, I like to recommend to see this also.
